We will build communities in economically depressed areas within a city by creating ventures that are based on community involvement, profit-sharing, and sustainable business models.
The word "Ubuntu" is thousands of year old African word that loosely translates to: "if it's not good for everyone, it's no good at all", meaning everyone must rise together and focus on the disenfranchised of the community to help them be a productive part of the community. Each Ubuntu Village is an "intentional community", formed as a subset of an existing community.
We will be creating manufacturing jobs for residents of the community, at higher than minimum wages. Community members will be able to learn new skills in our vocational classes allowing them to earn a share in the profits of the venture through their full time involvement.
One city could have multiple Ubuntu Villages with multiple business ventures within each community.
The passing of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 in December 2017, created a unique and timely opportunity for investors to participate in the mission of Ubuntu Innovations with additional benefits of capital gains tax reduction and elimination. Opportunity Zones have been designated all across the US that offer significant tax savings to investors who help start businesses and purchase property in economically depressed communities. See our News section for more information about the tax incentives for investors to invest in Opportunity Funds/Zones.
Ubuntu Village products are available for sale to all consumers outside the community (via retail space, internet, etc depending on the business model). Ubuntu community workers will qualify for free items produced by the community in addition to their salary and profit sharing.
